Case Study

Title: J.A. Tiberti – Presentation and Demonstration
Scope: Overlayment and repair of both newly poured concrete slabs and stairs
Purpose: Presentation and demonstration of CERATECH materials and their typical uses.
Location: Sun Coast Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada
Contact: J.A. Tiberti Construction Company
Date: April 27-29, 2005

Procedure & Observations:
CERATECH personnel arrived on site to perform an application of Pavemend SL™ (15.0), Pavemend TR™, and Pavemend VR™ as an introduction to our family of products. The underlying principle for this application was to exhibit the ability to utilize Pavemend as a rehabilitation element for newly poured concrete slabs. CERATECH personnel visited the selected repair sites on April 27, 2005.

In addition we examined, but did not undertake the repair of an exterior concrete slab in one of the casino parking lots. Apparently, rain falling during the readymix pour damaged the slab. Tiberti will undertake the rehabilitation of this surface with our material near term. In order to expedite the demonstration, light metal furring stripes were used to confine the overlayment area. The shapes were to act as forms and allow for screeding of Pavemend TR™.

To complete the repair, a skim coat of Pavemend SL™ was applied over Pavemend TR™, demonstrating the materials ability to be layered with no need for surface preparation or bonding agents.

Upon completion of the overlay, a second demonstration was performed to show the characteristics of Pavemend VR™ (Vertimend). The spalls on a precast concrete stair were prepared and the material applied.
